When mysterious figures appear

My paintings are always figments of my imagination. While they are based around Brisbane and outback Queensland landscapes, they are also about light and shade, colour and texture. Sometimes I'll be merrily painting away when figures appear. I take these onboard and they become part of the direction I am following. Sometimes, I don't see the figures or faces until they are pointed out. This was the case for this painting. I didn't see the two women in silken burkas until someone mentioned it. Now that's all I can see. It has become a happy coincidence. My mountains turned into women all by themselves!
